Police forces from around the world have separate divisions for patrolmen and patrol women who do their jobs from the seat of a motorcycle instead of a cruiser. They choose many different motorcycles for patrol bikes but they all have one thing in common---They all wear a motorcycle helmet. These motorcycle patrolmen also wear the proper motorcycle leathers, boots and gloves in addition to the motorcycle helmet as they realize the importance of entire head to foot protection. Remember these motorcycle police may at any given time have to ride at speeds in excess of one hundred miles an hour while in pursuit and a wreck at those speeds requires a top of the line motorcycle helmet and a quality set of leathers. I wonder what these motorcycle police think when they pull over another rider who is not wearing a motorcycle helmet? Do they offer advice or give a lecture about the safety of wearing a motorcycle helmet and proper riding clothing? I would bet some do and they are right to do so. Lets face it and admit some motorcycle riders are just plain stupid and they need to be educated about the peril to their life and limb they risk when riding a motorcycle and not wearing a motorcycle helmet and leathers, boots and gloves. Sure it might be hot in the summer with all this stuff on but would you rather be a little uncomfortable and alive or comfortable and then dead if you go down? Think about it.
