How many Harley-Davidson bikers do we have out there? Several million? How about a passenger on the back? Do you make sure they wear a motorcycle helmet? Or maybe you have a sidecar attached. Does your passenger in the sidecar wear a motorcycle helmet? If not show your love for them and make sure they are wearing a good quality motorcycle helmet and the same quality motorcycle clothing as you wear. In the video above this rider has equipped his canine pal with an old leather motorcycle helmet and goggles. I do not own a Harley Davidson but I have ridden several different models in the past. I would say my favorite was a 1945 military Harley with a sidecar. Man was that different! I had never ridden a motorcycle equipped with a sidecar and the fellow who owned the bike told me to steer when going into a turn, not lean like on a regular motorcycle. Did I listen? Heck no! I had 20 years of experience from motocross racing to alot of miles on pavement so I KNEW how to ride! Well, here comes the first curve and I lean, lean some more, I see the ditch coming up fast and by now my elbow, knee and nose are becoming good friends with the road when I hear his words---" don't lean, steer through the curves". By now the sidecar' s tire was inches from launching motorcycle and the butt wipe riding it into a ditch that I swear was saying "I eat fools like you for a light snack"! I turned the handle bars as instructed in what seemed like the distant past and rolled to a stop. Then I did what we all do after pulling a boner like that---I looked around to see if anyone had seen me. Luck was with me so I slowly rode on and finally got the hang of it. When I pulled back in the owners driveway he casually strolled up, looked me up and down, noticed the dirt and weeds on the sidecar' s tire and rim and said something I will always remember---"ya leaned didn't ya".

Below is a pristine example of a WW II Harley with sidecar.
