Has your motorcycle helmet hit the pavement? Maybe it has been accidentally dropped or your were wearing the motorcycle helmet in a minor accident and the helmet smacked the street of other hard object. While the motorcycle helmet might only have a slight scratch or ding the integrity of the helmet to protect your head very well could have been compromised. If you are a motocross rider your helmet has hit the dirt more times than a Kansas farmer and with the considerable cost of a new motorcycle helmet it is hard to justify the fact you might need to buy a new helmet each time it hits something. For very minor falls or bumps the motorcycle helmets integrity is not going to be affected but a hard hit to the helmet has most likely ruined its ability to protect your head in another accident. As the video above reveals some motorcycle helmets are very low quality and fail standardized tests when new. Quality helmets will pass these same test and receive Snell and DOT approval. Always but a motorcycle helmet with a Snell and DOT sticker on the inside of the helmet. Sure the price is higher but we are talking about the safe protection of your sight, hearing, good looks and brain here. If you buy an inferior motorcycle helmet and have a hard crash that low cost helmet is not going to seem like such a bargain then. Shopping for online motorcycle helmets is a good way to find a quality motorcycle helmet at a good price and the selection is better than all but the largest of motorcycle dealers carry.
