Motorcycle riding is not just for the guys. Women have been riding motorcycle for many years and motorcycle clubs for women are becoming more popular all the time. I think this is great because our sport has so much to offer and motorcycle riding as a whole benefits greatly by attracting as many members as possible from all walks of society and both genders. In the past motorcycle clubs were only associated with thugs, criminals and the outcasts of normal American society, but now if you attend a club meeting you are going to meet men and women with backgrounds as diverse as the motorcycles they ride. Unfortunately, many people still conjure up images of the old stereotypes like the "Hells Angles" of the 1950's when they see a group of riders together. These same people do not realize many if not all clubs hold motorcycle rallies to promote a favorite charity or cause and the monies collected are donated to these charities. These same people who look down their nose at bike clubs never stop to think that the man or woman underneath that helmet might be their doctor, banker, college professor or their kid's school teacher. The love of riding grabs hold of most from the first time they ride and lasts a lifetime. We need to think of ourselves as ambassadors for our passion, always be safe on the road and friendly when we meet non riders. Have fun and ride safe!
