Long ago, when the bicycle was invented, people soon found out that it was a dangerous endeavor. "Going unprotected," or so it was phrased, could result in serious damage or even death. For years, people feared there would be no stopping this new killing machine - its victims being claimed every week. Then, one foggy afternoon in Massachusetts, a group of angry women met to decide the future of bicycle riding and how to solve the growing problem.

After great deliberation, they were at a loss of ideas. Then, a young lady walked by with her daily bucket of laundry propped comfortably on her head - bingo! This revelation later lead to the invention (by one of their husbands) of what we would later call bike helmets.
