The battery fluid levels and clean tight terminal connections are discussed as well as how to properly maintain your motorcycle chain or sprockets or belt as the case may be. Number 4 motorcycle tip is keeping an eye on the tires for the proper air pressure and tread wear. The next tip covers your motorcycle air filter, proper cleaning and replacement if to oily or dirty to clean. Now we move on to the bikes cables. Never over-look the importance of maintaining all the cables for proper adjustment, free movement without any pinching or frayed ends and keep lubed for safe operation. Number seven on the top ten list is to give your motorcycle lights a check to see if all are working . The rear brake light, headlight, turn signals and instrument lights. and check the horn also.Now give your brakes a good look see. check for worn pads, grooved discs and no brake fluid leaks at the connection to the calipers. now do a basic nuts and bolts check. this can include the gas tank, seat, fenders, etc. Use Locktite on bolts that have a tendency to work loose. Lastly check the spokes on the rims, if your motorcycle has spoked rims. Doing a basic preventative maintenance check on your motorcycle will insure your bike is safe, and will save you money on costly repairs if you over-look these simple and basic checks.
