You guys will know if you have read my blog I cannot stress this point to often---always be prepared for animals and especially deer to dart out in front of you when least expected. Call it Murphys Law if you want but I can assure you if you ride any place other than on city streets this will eventually happen. What you do at this time can mean the difference between gathering your wits about you and riding your motorcycle on down the road or finding you and the motorcycle on the road and in big trouble. Notice how the motorcycle  rider in this video immediately brakes when he see's the first deer and he continues to slow after the first deer is clear of the motorcycle. Why did he do this? Because he knows when one deer runs across a road there is a very strong possibility more are close behind the first deer. As the video shows this is exactly what happens. Had he not continued to slow the motorcycle after the first deer was clear he would have nailed the second deer and quite likely put himself and the motorcycle on the road. Not good. Sometimes it is not possible to avoid an animal running in front of you and the best you can do is say a pray and hang on but if you are always aware of the animal on the road possibility you will gain the extra second or two that can mean the difference between you and your motorcycle ride continuing on or a trip to the hospital, or worse.
