Monster Energy SX motocross rookie Josh Hill pulled off the unlikely upset win with another rookie motocross or Supercross rider, Ryan Dungey coming in second. Series points leader team Yamaha's Chad Reed finished seventh after being within a couple motorcycle lengths of taking the lead when his Yamaha bucked him almost over the front end and he slid out in a turn. By the time Reed managed to get up and going he was in eighth place. Have to hand it to Chad for doing as well as he did due to the fact he was very ill before and during the moto. Team Honda's Kevin Windham finished in third place and gained a few valuable points on point leader Reed.

The win by Josh Hill was the first for Suzuki's factory motocross team since the GOAT retired. I had thought this years Supercross season was going to be boring due to the GOAT retiring and James "Bubba" Stewart sitting out the series with and injury but it has turned out to be pretty good with the younger motocross riders stepping up their racing speeds. One thing I have noticed is rookie's Josh Hill and Ryan Dungey know how to grab the holeshot and then put twenty laps together without falling prey to the jitters. Going to be interesting to see if kevin Windham can over-take Chad Reed in the points race.
