Riders and racers of atv and motocross machines use a front-wheel landing technique off of the previous jump so they can keep the atv or motocross motorcycle on the gas to set up for the next jump. Remember, when you are going to do a double jump you need to land on the front wheels of the atv or front wheel of you motocross bike. If your atv or motocross bike has a nose up attitude, meaning the front end is to high in the air, simply tap the rear brake or less effective is to push down on the handle bars. If you over do it and the front of your atv or motocross bike dips towards the ground more than you wish just grab a hand full of throttle and shift your weight to the rear.

A double jump normally uses a launch ramp and a landing ramp followed by another set of jump ramps. The best way to learn to do double jumps on an atv or motocross bike is to practice on a tabletop jump. The table top jump has the up ramp and the landing ramp but is level in between the launching and landing ramps. Using the table top jump to practice on allows you to land safely on the level area between the two ramps and then gradually work on you distance and technique until you are able to clear the tabletop.

Gradually add more speed as you practice with your atv or motocross jumping and when you feel ready for it move to the double jump.TIP--do not hit a jump in the sitting position on an atv. The extra weight of your butt on the rear suspension of an atv will turn the atv into a slingshot and fling you off, probable clear into the parking lot! Have fun, practice and always wear your motorcycle helmet and protective riding gear.   Motorcycle Parts, Accessories and Apparel
