450 Moto One

Opening up the action at round nine of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Unadilla was the 450 action - highlighted by Rockstar Makita Suzuki's Chad Reed, who continues to extend his points lead in the series.

Canidae Kawasaki's Tommy Hahn was impressive, finishing second behind Reed followed by Red Bull Honda's Davi Millsaps, who rounded out the podium. Reed's Suzuki teammate Michael Byrne finished fourth ahead of the Red Bull Honda teammates, Andrew Short and Ivan Tedesco who finished a close fifth and sixth, respectively.

Filling in for the injured Josh Hill under the factory Yamaha tent, Matt Goerke fared well in practice, but didn't get the start he needed to put himself in a good position. Goerke had some good lap times, but did not finish the first moto.

250 Moto One

As per his usual style, Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Christophe Pourcel dominated the action in the first 250 moto. The Frenchman went on to lead nearly every lap of moto one, leaving the rest of the field to fight it out for second in his dust.

Pourcel's teammate Weimer ran an early second, battling with a hard-charging Ryan Dungey and Justin Barcia with Blake Wharton closing in. By the checkered flag, Rockstar Makita Suzuki's Dungey had settled in to third, and with Pourcel nearly 20 second out, he saw little need to chase down the Frenchman. Behine Dungey, Weimer rounded out the podium followed by Metcalfe and Wharton.

Factory Connection GEICO Powersports Honda rider Kevin Windham was back in action for the first time since '07. But "K-Dub" didn't fare as well as his practice lap times might have predicted. After qualifying third, Windham was left playing catch up after getting buried in the pack. Windham went on to collect 12th in the opening moto.
